Adrian Beltre (calf) not expected to be back in May
Texas Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre (calf) is unlikely to be ready by the end of May, according to TR Sullivan of MLB.com.
"May is starting to look murky too," Sullivan stated, making it clear that Beltre won't be back by the end of April as the Rangers had originally hoped. "It's getting better but not where we expect it to be," said manager Jeff Banister. "We're still in the rehab mode." Joey Gallo will continue to handle things at third for Texas until Beltre is able to play.
Through 21 games, Gallo is slashing .224/.333/.612 with 7 dingers, 14 RBI's, 16 runs scored and 3 steals across 78 plate appearances.
