Reds prepared to activate Devin Mesoraco (hip, shoulder) on Friday
Cincinnati Reds catcher Devin Mesoraco (hip, shoulder) is set to be activated from the disabled list on Friday.
Mesoraco has spent most of the last two seasons on the sidelines dealing with hip and shoulder injuries. He has been in the minors trying to build his stamina and get back into playing shape but will still likely be eased into action as the backup catcher when activated later this week. The 28-year-old catcher hit 25 home runs while batting .273 in 2014.
Our models project Mesoraco for a .232 batting average with 11 home runs, 36 RBI's, and 25 runs scored in 22 plate appearances the rest of the season.
