Justin Verlander cruises through seven innings in Tigers' win
Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Justin Verlander permitted just one unearned run over seven frames in Monday's 2-1 victory over the Boston Red Sox.
Verlander made quick work of the Red Sox as he allowed just three hits and two walks while striking out four on Monday. Unfortunately, he left with a no-decision after the Tigers scored the winning run in the eighth inning after Verlander had left the game. He will take the mound again on Saturday versus the Cleveland Indians.
Verlander has started off strong, posting a 1.35 ERA, 0.98 WHIP, and 14 punchouts in 13 1/3 innings pitched so far this season.
