Javier Baez getting a breather Wednesday for Cubs' matinee
Chicago Cubs infielder Javier Baez is not in the lineup for Wednesday's series finale against the St. Louis Cardinals.
The Cubs played Tuesday night, so Baez is getting the afternoon off for an early matchup with the Cardinals. Ben Zobrist will be the second sacker for Chicago as St. Louis sends right-hander Lance Lynn to the mound. Baez has gone 1-for-7 with one RBI and two strikeouts through his first two contests.
numberFire's models project Baez to hit .265 with 17 home runs, 56 RBI's and 9 stolen bases across 458 plate appearances over the remainder of the season.
