Padres' Carter Capps (elbow) works simulated inning
San Diego Padres relief pitcher Carter Capps (elbow) threw a 21-pitch simulated inning on Tuesday at Dodger Stadium.
Capps has been working his way back from Tommy John surgery and is inching closer to a rehab assignment in the minors. He should be able to join the Padres bullpen in mid-to-late-April. Capps has the stuff to be a closer if he can stay healthy.
Capps owns a career ERA of 3.99 with a WHIP of 1.34 while striking out 177 in 138 2/3 innings over four seasons.
