Denard Span (hip) sitting out Tuesday night for the Giants
San Francisco Giants outfielder Denard Span is out of the starting lineup against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday because of a sore hip.
The injury is something new for Span and there is no word just yet if it will be a long-term concern. Gorkys Hernandez will start in centerfield and bat leadoff with Span sitting this one out.
Span went 2-for-5 with a pair of singles in the Giants' season opener on Monday.
