Mariners' Felix Hernandez still dealing with tightness in groin
Seattle Mariners pitcher Felix Hernandez was still feeling some tightness in his groin Tuesday after making an early exit from his Opening Day start on Monday, manager Scott Servais said.
Hernandez was pulled in the fifth inning after tweaking his groin while rushing to cover first base in the fourth. After the game, he expressed complete confidence in his availability for Saturday's scheduled start, but that might have been a little overly optimistic.
As of now, numberFire's models project Hernandez to record a 3.69 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 21.4 strikeout percentage over 193 innings for the remainder of the season.
