Rays giving Brad Boxberger (lat) a week off
Tampa Bay Rays reliever Brad Boxberger (lat) will take a week off from throwing and then build back up.
Boxberger has been bothered by the lat issue for the majority of spring training, so hopefully a full week of rest will allow him to move forward. The 28-year-old right-hander will open the 2017 campaign on the 10-day disabled list and he's hopeful to join Tampa Bay's bullpen by the end of April.
Boxberger is currently projected to twirl a 3.88 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 21.7 strikeout percentage across 53 1/3 innings this upcoming season.
