Clayton Kershaw ready for potential NLCS Game 5 start

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw is "prepared for anything," according to manager Dave Roberts, who said he hasn't spoken to his ace left-hander about starting Game 5 of the National League Championship Series.

What It Means:

If the Dodgers are facing elimination in Game 5, Kershaw will get the call. Otherwise, Game 6 will be his time to shine. Kershaw was spectacular on Sunday against the Chicago Cubs in Game 2 of the NLCS, fanning six while conceding only a pair of singles and a walk in the Dodgers' 1-0 victory. For now, Kenta Maeda is in line to toe the rubber in Game 5.

Through four appearances (three starts) this postseason, Kershaw has spun a 3.72 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 31.3 strikeout percentage in 19 1/3 innings of work.
