Matt Moore holds Cubs to two runs over eight innings, Giants eliminated anyway
San Francisco Giants pitcher Matt Moore allowed only two hits and two runs -- one earned -- over eight innings on Tuesday, but the Giants dropped Game 4 of the NLDS to the Chicago Cubs.
The Giants blew a 3-1 lead in the game, with a complement of five different pitchers seeing the mound as the Cubs scored four runs in the top of the ninth inning, ending San Francisco's season.
Moore posted a 4.08 ERA and 4.39 SIERA through 33 regular season starts, though his 21.2 percent strikeout rate was his best since 2013.
