Jake Arrieta shuts down Pirates
The Cubs righty improved to 12-6 on the season after throwing seven shutout innings allowing just five Pirates' batters to reach base on two hits and three walks.
Arrieta is having a fantastic season carrying a 2.50 ERA, 2.63 FIP and a 9.63 K/9 ratio while also leading the Cubs pitching staff with a 2.25 nERD.
He is projected to finish the season with 16 wins, a 2.72 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, 3.92 K/BB ratio and a 7.97 fantasy score, which would rank ninth amongst pitchers in the second half.
