Giants won't have Eduardo Nunez (hamstring) in Game 1 Friday
San Francisco Giants infielder Eduardo Nunez (hamstring) will not be ready to start Game 1 of the National League Divisional Series against the Chicago Cubs, Giants manager Bruce Bochy said on Thursday.
A lingering hamstring injury kept Nunez off the Wild Card roster, but he remains a possibility for the Giants' NLDS roster, pending a Thursday workout. Conor Gillaspie -- whose three-run home run proved to be the winner in Wednesday night's Wild Card game -- will continue to replace Nunez in the meantime.
Nunez slashed .288/.325/.432 through 595 plate appearances for both the Giants and Minnesota Twins in the regular season, with a .323 wOBA and .145 ISO. He added 16 home runs and 67 RBI's with 40 stolen bases.
