Kennys Vargas helps Twins topple Royals with solo blast
Minnesota Twins first baseman Kennys Vargas went 2-for-5 with a solo home run to help the Twins prevail past the Kansas City Royals 7-6 on Thursday.
Vargas set a new career-high when he took Royals starter Danny Duffy yard for his 10th jack of the season, giving him home runs in back-to-back games. He added a double in the contest as well.
Vargas owns a .250/.354/.543 slash while posting career-highs with a .376 wOBA and .293 ISO in 164 plate appearances this season.
