Red Sox resting handful of starters Thursday after clinching American League East
Boston Red Sox outfielder Mookie Betts, second baseman Dustin Pedroia, first baseman Hanley Ramirez and catcher Sandy Leon are all out of the starting lineup on Thursday night against the New York Yankees.
The regulars are receiving some rest after Boston clinched the American League East title on Wednesday night with the Toronto Blue Jays' loss to the Baltimore Orioles. It will be the final game of David Ortiz's career at Yankee Stadium, where he will be serving as the designated hitter and batting cleanup for the Red Sox.
Boston ranks second in numberFire's MLB Team Power Rankings and we also give them the second-highest odds of winning the World Series at 19.6 percent.
