Joey Votto homers as Reds down Brewers

Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run and three walks as the Reds beat the Milwaukee Brewers 6-1 on Saturday.

Votto's homer came in the first inning and it started the Reds on the path to victory. Votto has been unconscious at the plate over the course of the second half. After hitting .252 before the All Star break, Votto now owns a .408 average over 228 at bats post-All Star break.
