Diamondbacks say A.J. Pollock unlikely to return this season

Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder A.J. Pollock (groin) told manager Chip Hale that he thought he was "going to feel much better" when he ran on Friday.

What It Means:

Pollock suffered a strained groin a couple of weeks ago and recently suffered a setback that might effectively end his season. He is still feeling pain in his leg and until that ceases, he can not resume running.

Pollock is slashing .244/.326/.390 with a .342 wOBA over just 46 plate appearances this season. He has two homers and four steals on the year after sitting out most of the season with a fractured elbow.
