Braves' Freddie Freeman extends hit streak to 27
Atlanta Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman extended his hitting streak to 27 games in Friday’s win over the Miami Marlins.
Freeman doubled in the sixth inning to move his hitting streak to 27, which is easily the longest NL streak this season and the second longest in the majors behind Jackie Bradley's 29-game streak. He has improved his batting average 14 points since the streak began.
Freeman is slashing .303/.400/.564 with a career-high .400 wOBA over 665 plate appearances in 2016. He has improved his isolated power to .261, easily a career-high, which has led to a career-best 31 homers for the Braves' first baseman this season.
