Diamondbacks schedule MRI for Zack Greinke

Arizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Zack Greinke is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Friday after experiencing shoulder stiffness following Wednesday's start according to Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic.

What It Means:

Greinke's first season in Arizona hasn't gone well and this latest injury could end his disappointing season. He signed a six-year, $206.5 million contract last winter and right now it's looking like one of the worst contracts signed. However, it could only be a hiccup for the D-backs' ace, so hopefully for him and the team he can rebound next season.

Greinke owns a 4.37 ERA and 1.27 WHIP across 158 2/3 innings this season. His xFIP of 3.97 is his worst mark since the 2007 season, while his SIERA of 4.10 is his highest since 2006.
