Matt Duffy (heel) remains out on Wednesday for Rays
Tampa Bay Rays infielder Matt Duffy is not in the lineup Wednesday.
With Duffy scheduled for season-ending surgery later this week to address a lingering left Achilles injury, he has likely played his last inning in 2016. Nick Franklin is starting at shortstop on Wednesday versus the Baltimore Orioles.
Duffy was unimpressive from the dish this year, slashing .258/.310/.357 with a .292 wOBA and .099 ISO through 366 plate appearances.
