Russell Martin has five RBI's as Blue Jays rout Minnesota
Toronto Blue Jays catcher Russell Martin went 2-for-5 with a home run and five RBI's in Friday’s 15-8 victory over the Minnesota Twins.
The Blue Jays busted the game open big time in the sixth and seventh innings and Martin was a big part of it. He had a three-run double in the sixth and when he came back up in the seventh he knocked a two-run homer over the wall. Martin has been heating up in the latter half of August, slugging seven homers in his last 11 games.
After a slow start to the season, Martin is now slashing .249/.344/.419 with a .335 wOBA over 411 appearances at the plate. The 33-year-old has 15 homers on the year along with 59 RBI's.
