Jets to feature Matt Forte in passing game

The New York Jets want running back Matt Forte to be a "major factor" in their passing game.

What It Means:

Forte excels as a pass-catcher, but so does Bilal Powell, who the Jets re-signed to a three-year, $11.25 million contract in the off-season (only slightly below the three-year, $12 million deal that Forte agreed to). Considering the similar deals and the veteran's 30-year-old status, Forte will likely see around the same number of receptions as the 44 he saw last season.

Our algorithms currently project Forte as the 19th-best running back. We have him pegged for 211 carries for 834 rushing yards and 3.84 touchdowns, to go with 46 receptions for 336 yards receiving and 1.58 touchdowns. We have Powell pegged for 33 catches.
