Clayton Kershaw (back) threw another bullpen session for Dodgers

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw (back) threw around 50 pitches in a bullpen session on Tuesday in Los Angeles.

What It Means:

"I felt good again today," Kershaw said to reporters following the workout, while adding that he's unsure what will come next in his recovery from a herniated disc in his lower back. He hasn't seen the mound for the Dodgers since June 26, but the ace southpaw has already completed two successful bullpen sessions and could be ready to face live hitters in a batting practice or simulated setting.

While Kershaw dazzled with a 1.79 ERA and 32.88 percent strikeout rate through 16 starts this season, his (still outstanding) 2.26 SIERA was on pace to be his highest since 2013.
