Reds' Joey Votto continues his scorching summer on Friday

Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto homered and went 2-for-3 with four RBI's and two runs scored in Friday's 9-2 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers.

What It Means:

Votto opened the game with a three-run homer in the first inning and he got another RBI for walking with the bases loaded in the fourth. The Reds' first baseman has been on fire at the plate and is on pace to post a .400 average or better for two straight months. Since July 1st, Votto is hitting .415 with six homers, 27 RBI's and 33 runs scored.

Votto's string of great performances has raised his overall slash line this season to .304/.431/.515 with a .401 wOBA over 404 at bats. He has 20 homers and 67 RBI's, with a nERD of 3.30.
