Buster Posey back in action as Giants take on Pittsburgh
San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey (back) has returned to the starting lineup Tuesday night against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Posey experienced some tightness in his lower back that caused him to be a late scratch Sunday against the Baltimore Orioles, while some lingering discomfort also kept him out of Monday's series opener with the Pirates. However, he's back behind the plate on Tuesday, hitting cleanup versus Pittsburgh right-hander Jameson Taillon.
Posey is having another solid season, slashing .288/.368/.454 with 12 home runs and a .352 wOBA in 435 plate appearances. We project him to hit four homers and post an .823 OPS in 165 more appearances at the plate over the remaining course of the season.
