Hanley Ramirez getting day off Wednesday as Red Sox duel with Detroit
Boston Red Sox first baseman/left fielder Hanley Ramirez is not in the starting lineup Wednesday afternoon against the Detroit Tigers.
Travis Shaw will take over at first and Aaron Hill will man the hot corner for Boston. It's no more than a standard day off for Ramirez, who is enjoying a .306/.411/.645 slash (73 plate appearances) so far in July.
Ramirez currently ranks 72nd in the majors with a 1.19 nERD. Our models currently project him to hit .264/.336/.445 with a .341 wOBA in 247 more appearances at the plate over the remainder of the season.
