Aaron Sanchez throws seven shutout innings in Toronto win
Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Aaron Sanchez spun seven shutout frames on Monday while striking out seven in a 4-2 win over the San Diego Padres.
Sanchez has been on a tear, and hasn't given up more than two runs in any of his last seven starts, earning five wins in that span.
Sanchez has a 3.65 SIERA and 21.26 percent strikeout rate on the year, while he ranks 12th in the majors with an impressive 2.67 nERD. That SIERA raises questions about how sustainable his 2.72 ERA is, and we project him for a 3.32 ERA over the remainder of the season.
