Angels' Nick Tropeano (torn UCL) gets second opinion on Monday
Los Angeles Angels pitcher Nick Tropeano saw Dr. David Altchek in New York on Monday for a second opinion on his right elbow.
Tropeano was diagnosed with an ulnar collateral ligament tear in his elbow last week. No official decision has been made yet, but season-ending Tommy John surgery could be imminent.
Tropeano ranks 132nd in the majors with a 1.46 nERD. He's sporting a 4.51 SIERA and 22.97 percent strikeout rate through 68 1/3 innings, with both of those numbers representing a decline from his 2015 production. However, his 3.56 ERA is a career-best.
