Rangers showing interest in Phillies' Vince Velasquez
The Texas Rangers are expressing interest in Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Vincent Velasquez according to FOX Sports' Jon Morosi.
Velasquez is only 24 years old and having a very good season in Philadelphia, so it would take a massive offer for the Rangers to even get the Phillies to consider it. Velasquez is still under control for the next five years, so a move now would be surprising.
Velasquez owns an impressive 3.34 ERA and 2.04 nERD this season across 92 2/3 innings pitched. Our models project him to post a 4.19 ERA and 23.20 strikeout rate over 68 2/3 innings left this year.
