Rockies will call up David Dahl Monday

The Colorado Rockies announced Sunday that top prospect and outfielder David Dahl will be called up from Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday.

What It Means:

The Rockies are in Baltimore to start a series this week with the Orioles, so Dahl will presumably get some time at designated hitter and possibly the outfield. The team has been shopping Charlie Blackmon and Carlos Gonzalez, so Dahl could end up spending the rest of the year in Colorado if one of those guys gets shipped out of town before the trade deadline.

Dahl is slashing .314/.394/.569 with 18 homers, 61 RBI's and 17 stolen bases in 92 games in both Double-A and Triple-A this season.
