The Washington Nationals have optioned pitcher Lucas Giolito to Triple-A Syracuse.
Giolito has given up eight runs (six earned) in seven innings over his last two starts. He gave up 11 hits and 7 walks with only 4 strikeouts in those games.
Through his three major league starts, Giolito is sporting an awful 6.99 SIERA with a 17.00 percent walk rate and 9.40 percent strikeout rate, as well as a -0.23 nERD.
