White Sox suspend Chris Sale five games
The Chicago White Sox have suspended starting pitcher Chris Sale five games for his conduct in a clubhouse incident prior to Saturday's game.
Sale took a knife to some throwback uniforms the team donned Saturday night after an intense argument with the front office regarding the jerseys. As long as he isn't traded during his suspension, he is tentatively scheduled to rejoin the rotation on Thursday in Chicago against the Cubs at Wrigley Field.
Sale ranks 11th in the majors with a 2.66 nERD despite his 3.60 SIERA and 24.5 percent strikeout rate represents a down year by his standards. He owns a 3.18 ERA over 133 innings this season.
