Angels acquire outfielder David Murphy from Indians
Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports the Angels will acquire outfielder David Murphy from the Indians.
What It Means:
The left-handed Murphy has a .332 wOBA and 0.54 nERD on the season. He owns a .334 wOBA against righties on the season, which accounts for 93 percent of his plate appearances. He's a substantial upgrade over Matt Joyce who has a -1.53 nERD and Dan Robertson who has a -0.35 nERD, both of which are below league-average hitters. Joyce's nERD ranks him as one of the worst hitters in all of baseball this season.
