Cardinals activate Kevin Siegrist (mono) from disabled list

The St. Louis Cardinals activated pitcher Kevin Siegrist from the 15-day disabled list.

What It Means:

Mononucleosis kept Siegrist out for two weeks. The southpaw setup man has recorded a 2.78 ERA, a 0.96 WHIP, and a 34/11 strikeout-to-walk ratio across 32 1/3 innings of relief this season for the Cardinals. Siegrist has helped the St. Louis bullpen post the 10th best team ERA among relievers this season at 3.63.

Siegrist's 4.17 xFIP is significantly higher than his ERA, however, but his 27.20 strikeout percentage is well above the league average (21.00 percent). Our models project him to record a 3.41 ERA and a 25.50 strikeout percentage over the remaining course of the season.
