Mariners' Felix Hernandez (calf) roughed up in rehab start
Seattle Mariners pitcher Felix Hernandez (calf) went 3 2/3 innings on Sunday, giving up six hits and three runs in his first rehab start for Low-A Everett.
Hernandez has been out since the start of June, and if his next rehab start (scheduled for Friday) doesn't go well, we could see his return pushed back from the July 20 target that was set earlier in the month.
He has struggled uncharacteristically through 10 starts this season, twirling a 4.41 SIERA, 19.92 percent strikeout rate and 9.77 percent walk rate that all represent the worst marks of his career. His 1.46 nERD ranks only 139th in the majors.
