Pirates' Andrew McCutchen strikes out three times Thursday
Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Andrew McCutchen went 0-for-4 and struck out three times against the St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday.
McCutchen now has seven three-strikeout games this season, which is already a new career-high. He's having the worst season of his career and is slashing just .241/.315/.406 with a .309 wOBA, which is below the league average (.319).
McCutchen does have 12 home runs, but his 9.30 walk percentage and his 24.20 strikeout percentage are both career worsts. We project him to slightly improve his numbers over the rest of the season, hitting .251/.329/.418 with 10 home runs and a .323 wOBA.
