Blue Jays' Aaron Sanchez thwarts Rockies' offense over eight innings
Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Aaron Sanchez was fantastic in Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Colorado Rockies, firing eight innings of one-run ball.
Sanchez allowed six hits, fanned three and walked a pair across his eight frames of work. He has now gone 12 consecutive outings without a loss and will carry an 8-1 record (16 starts) into a home contest against the Kansas City Royals in his next trip to the mound.
The 23-year-old right-hander (turning 24 on Friday) now owns a 3.16 ERA and 1.23 WHIP this season. He's currently striking out 8.20 batters per nine frames across 105 1/3 innings on the year.
