Aledmys Diaz (eye) will miss a few games for Cardinals

St. Louis Cardinals infielder Aledmys Diaz is expected to miss a few games until the swelling above his right eye subsides.

What It Means:

Diaz was thumped with a foul ball above the eye during Monday's contest versus the Kansas City Royals, but he remains with the team and is reportedly in good spirits. Everything came back negative following the full concussion protocol. Greg Garcia will fill in at shortstop on Tuesday and should be considered the primary replacement until Diaz is able to return to action.

Garcia is one of our preferred value plays for Tuesday's DFS slate. Diaz is having a strong rookie year, sporting a .376 wOBA and .207 ISO in 287 plate appearances while his 1.90 nERD ranks 46th in the big leagues. He has 10 moon shots, 40 RBI's and a pair of stolen bases on the season.
