Mark Teixeira's three hits, solo shot not enough for Yankees
New York Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira went 3-for-5 with a solo homer in Monday's loss to the Texas Rangers.
Teixeira provided the Yankees with the lead after he knocked a tater off Luke Jackson in the seventh, but Texas rallied back with four runs in the ninth after a rain delay that lasted almost four hours. Teixeira has recorded a dinger in two of the past three contests since returning from the disabled list.
Teixeira has struggled to a .267 wOBA with five home runs and 14 RBI's in 200 plate appearances this season. Our models currently project him to record a .311 wOBA over the remainder of the season while logging another eight jacks and 28 RBI's.
