Boston Red Sox infielder Travis Shaw is not in Monday's lineup versus the Tampa Bay Rays.
What It Means:
This is no more than a day of rest for the 26-year-old. Marco Hernandez will fill in at third base while batting ninth against Rays rookie southpaw Blake Snell.
Shaw is having a solid season, slashing .267/.334/.437 with a .334 wOBA, seven homers and 38 RBI's over 299 plate appearances. Our models currently project him to post a .335 wOBA with 11 more lasers and another 36 RBI's over 280 remaining appearances at the plate this season.
