MRI shows bone bruise for Angels' Yunel Escobar
An MRI on Los Angeles Angels third baseman Yunel Escobar's left knee revealed a bone bruise.
What It Means:
Escobar has not played since suffering the injury on Thursday, and while a disabled list trip was not originally thought to be needed, there is still a chance Escobar gets sent to the DL if he doesn't get better in another day or two. Stay tuned.
Escobar is slashing a solid .310/.359/.409 with three home runs and a .337 wOBA in 297 plate appearances this season. Our models currently project him to hit .293/.350/.394 with four home runs and a .322 wOBA over the remaining course of the season.
