X-rays come back negative on Yankees' CC Sabathia
The X-rays on New York Yankees starting pitcher CC Sabathia's injured right ankle came back negative.
Not only did Sabathia get rocked for five earned runs on seven hits on Wednesday, but he rolled his ankle twice, once in the third and once in the fifth inning. He said after the game that he plans on making his next start, but he was getting knocked around even before getting hurt. Stay tuned.
His ERA leaped from 2.20 to 2.71 after getting beat up on Wednesday and Sabathia remains 5-4 across 69 2/3 innings (12 starts). Entering today's contest, our models projected the 35-year-old to record a 4.12 ERA with a 17.70 strikeout percentage over the remainder of the season.
