Diamondbacks place David Peralta on the disabled list
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder David Peralta has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a lower back sprain.
Peralta has failed to progress enough in his recovery and Sunday marked the third consecutive game that he was forced to miss due to the lower back discomfort, so the Diamondbacks made the decision to disable him. There is optimism that Peralta will make his return immediately upon eligibility. In a coinciding move, Arizona is calling up Socrates Brito from Triple-A Reno.
Peralta hasn't been able to build off of his success from last year (.380 wOBA), slashing .259/.308/.442 with four home runs and a .324 wOBA in 159 plate appearances this season.
