Masahiro Tanaka goes eight innings in Yankees' win over Minnesota

New York Yankees starting pitcher Masahiro Tanaka fired eight innings of one-run ball in an 8-2 win over the Minnesota Twins on Friday.

What It Means:

Tanaka got plenty of run support, but was fantastic over 110 pitches. He allowed only seven hits, while striking out five and he didn't walk a batter over his eight innings of work. He will get another matchup with the Twins in his next outing, but this time it will be back home at Yankee Stadium.

Tanaka owns a 2.91 ERA over 92 2/3 innings this season. Our models project him to post a 3.42 ERA over 121 innings remaining this year.
