Danny Santana headed to Twins' disabled list, Byron Buxton called up
Minnesota Twins right fielder/short stop Danny Santana was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a left hamstring strain.
Santana injured his left hamstring during Monday's game and will require an extended absence. The Twins will call up Byron Buxton to take his place on the active roster.
The 22-year-old Buxton was demoted in late April after batting just .156/.208/.289 in 49 plate appearances, but he came into Monday's action hitting .333/.402/.605 with six homers and four steals over 28 games in Triple-A. Santana has 131 plate appearances this season and is hitting .258/.290/.347 with a .278 wOBA. He has 10 stolen bases on the year in 16 attempts.
