Steven Souza benched Friday as Rays take on Yankees
Tampa Bay Rays right fielder Steven Souza is not in the lineup Friday.
Souza was removed for a pinch-hitter Thursday after striking out in his first three plate appearances and now will get a day off Friday. The streaky outfielder is batting .217/.250/.217 with 13 strikeouts over his last six games. The Rays are going with Corey Dickerson, Desmond Jennings and Brandon Guyer in the outfield and Steve Pearce in the designated hitter spot Friday.
Guyer will likely make for the best play on DFS out of the named options. Souza is slashing .268/.324/.484 in 170 plate appearances this season while logging nine dingers and 19 RBI's.
