X-rays come up clean for Giants' Brandon Belt (ankle)

San Francisco Giants first baseman Brandon Belt's X-rays came back negative on his sprained left ankle.

What It Means:

Belt suffered the ankle injury on a slide into second during Wednesday afternoon's win over the San Diego Padres. Manager Bruce Bochy described the injury as mild and Wednesday's negative X-rays back that assertion. Belt, himself, said that he is hoping to play on Friday against the Colorado Rockies.

Belt struck out twice and was walked once on Wednesday. Now with 194 appearances at the plate this season, Belt is slashing .276/.407/.442 with a .370 wOBA. He has logged four long balls with 22 RBI's on the year.
