Devon Travis could move quickly to the Blue Jays' leadoff spot
Toronto Blue Jays second baseman Devon Travis (shoulder) could move swiftly to the top spot in the batting order, manager John Gibbons suggested Wednesday evening.
Travis is hitting eighth Wednesday in his first game since July 28, 2015, but Gibbons told reporters that the dynamic 25-year-old second baseman will slide up quickly if he looks sharp in his first couple of games.
Travis hit .304/.361/.498 with eight home runs and three stolen bases in 62 games last season for Toronto, batting leadoff in 22 of 60 starts. He'd carry huge fantasy potential at the head of a dangerous Jays offense. Irrelevant of this report, our models project Travis to hit .284/.343/.453 in 249 plate appearances this season.
