Jon Jay's solo moon shot not enough to power Padres past San Francisco
San Diego Padres center fielder Jon Jay went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Tuesday's loss to the San Francisco Giants.
Jay stroked a solo home run against Giants' starter Jeff Samardzija in the sixth inning. It would be one of just two runs the Padres managed to scratch out on the evening.
With a .269/.332/.374 slash line over 188 plate appearances, the 31-year-old outfielder can be safely ignored for fantasy purposes as our models actually project him to finish the year with a forgettable .242/.306/.328 slash across 544 total appearances at the plate.
