Jorge Soler homers as Cubs rout Cardinals
Chicago Cubs outfielder Jorge Soler belted a two-run homer and recorded three RBI's in Tuesday's win over the St. Louis Cardinals.
Soler drew a bases-loaded walk in the first inning and smacked a two-run shot to dead center field in the fifth to knock starter Michael Wacha out of the game. He also added another walk and an infield single. Soler has picked up seven hits -- including a pair of homers -- over his last 21 at-bats.
Locked into regular at-bats with Kyle Schwarber (knee) out, Soler has gotten off to a slow start, posting a .294 wOBA and 24.0 percent strikeout rate. However, his 11.2 percent walk rate is a career high, and he's sporting a solid .150 ISO.
