Aledmys Diaz getting day of rest for Cardinals on Thursday
St. Louis Cardinals infielder Aledmys Diaz is out of the starting lineup on Thursday afternoon against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Diaz finally got to hit higher than seventh on Wednesday night, serving as the Cardinals' leadoff man in a 5-4 victory, but he'll take a day of rest Thursday versus Phillies right-hander Jerad Eickhoff. Ruben Tejada is playing shortstop and batting eighth.
Diaz boasts an incredible .381/.422/.679 slash line with five home runs and 16 RBI's over his first 26 major league games.
